About Me

Chris Woodruff, affectionately known as "The Pineapple Professor," is a seasoned hospitality management expert with over 17 years of experience previously as the Hospitality Management Program Chair at Lake Michigan College. With a Master of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management from Grand Valley State University, Chris has cultivated a deep understanding of the hospitality industry.

As an educator for the Michigan Restaurant Association, Chris has crafted comprehensive curriculums in customer service, service safety, and hospitality, which have been implemented statewide. His influence has shaped the careers of hundreds of students, guiding them to success in the hospitality sector.

Chris's expertise extends beyond the classroom. A long-standing member of the Detroit Tigers' hospitality team, he has a unique insight into sports and entertainment venue management. His passion for travel, wine (as a sommelier), bourbon (as a steward), and comedy adds a dynamic edge to his professional persona.
